One of the parties is the famed Governor's Ball, which had been prepared by top chef, Wolfgang Puck.
The actress took to Instagram to explain that she had teamed up with a non-profit organisation in California called Copia to round up excess food and have that delivered to poverty stricken regions. A total of 800 people were fed as a result of these efforts.

In one of her posts she notes, "So excited to be kicking off Oscar weekend with this fantastic initiative. This year #Copia and I team up with some of Oscar weekend’s biggest parties to recover excess food and deliver it to communities most in need in Los Angeles. #zerowaste #zerohunger Because this food is too good to be wasted." The actress, is known for her humanitarian work having championed several social causes over the years. Most recently in 2016, she announced that she, along with prominent actresses from the West, would be starting a not-for-profit organisation that helps produce and develop cinema that empowers women.
